Hedsor House wedding | Kathryn & Simeon
As a wedding celebrant, who has led ceremonies in all sorts of venues, I absolutely adore leading wedding ceremonies at Hedsor House. Its majestic, quintessentially British manor house architecture gives Pride and Prejudice meets Bridgerton vibes, while still feeling warm and welcoming. It manages to feel grand without ever feeling impersonal, which makes it the perfect setting for a wedding that’s both stylish and deeply personal.
Kathryn and Simeon’s Hedsor House wedding was filled with joy, style, and meaning from start to finish, bringing together timeless British elegance and vibrant cultural celebration in one unforgettable day.
Hedsor House bride’s wedding morning
Kathryn started the day with style, enjoying fizz and laughter with her bridesmaids in gorgeous matching pyjamas.
Once dressed in her stunning low v, off the shoulder classic gown, Kathryn exchanged a special first look with her Dad, full of tight hugs, laughter and a few happy tears. She then followed that with a separate first look with her bridesmaids, who had swapped their matching PJs, for matching dark green dresses. Well, the colour and fabric matched, but the styles were all slightly different, giving them a stylistic individuality, while keeping the look uniform. Little did we know this was just a taste of the reaction Simeon was going to have when seeing his bride come down the aisle.
Hedsor House groom’s wedding arrival
Before Kathryn’s entrance, however, Simeon had a special arrival of his own. The brilliant wedding team at Hedsor House gathered guests outside the front of the main house, just in time to witness Simeon’s arrival in true Punjabi style with a Baraat procession. Escorted by two live Dhol drummers, the sound travelled across the grounds long before the groom came into view. As brightly coloured smoke flares filled the air and slowly cleared, Simeon emerged on horseback, surrounded by his immediate family and wedding party, with dancing relatives leading the way.
Hedsor House wedding ceremony in Centre Hall
Centre Hall sits right at the heart of the house, and you feel that immediately. Being positioned in the very centre of the building gives the ceremony a real sense of importance, like everything naturally leads to this moment. Architecturally, it’s a space that holds attention beautifully. The domed ceiling, mezzanine level, and layered viewpoints give guests plenty to take in as they arrive and settle, which creates a calm, anticipatory atmosphere rather than awkward waiting. There’s always something to admire, something to look up at, and something that quietly builds the sense of occasion. From a ceremony point of view, that matters. Guests feel engaged before a word is even spoken. They’re present, relaxed, and ready to be part of the moment, rather than checking watches or shuffling in their seats.
After the guests took their seats, still talking excitedly about the groom’s thrilling arrival, Simeon took his place in front of me and the processional began. Anticipation, excitement, and emotion were written all over Simeon’s face the moment he laid eyes on Kathryn.
The ceremony was filled with incredibly personal readings, including a poem from Kathryn’s Mum and a blessing from Simeon’s uncle.
We also witnessed Simeon and Kathryn exchanging personal vows that they’d written to each other. At all of these points in the ceremony, the pillars at the sides of the Centre Hall, as well as being beautiful to look at, offered me a place to stand aside and let the ceremony contributors take centre stage, without distraction, as it should be.
When it came to the exchanging of rings, there was someone who upstaged even the main characters (our couple) however, their wonderful dog, Nellie! She was such a good girl, walking in lapping up the attention, but instantly running over to her Mum and Dad to do her duty and then returning without protest to the wonderful dog chaperone. Rest assured, she was more than compensated for her efforts with treats and cuddles outside.
Hedsor House Drawing Room drinks reception
As Simeon and Kathryn left the Centre Hall together, now officially husband and wife, the guests were encouraged to enjoy some live music and drinks next door in The Drawing Room with floor to ceiling doors opening onto the sunny South Lawn.
Hedsor House Ballroom wedding breakfast
The celebrations and sense of wonder continued during their wedding breakfast in The Ballroom. The sophistication of this room is palpable. It truly doesn’t require much additional dressing at all, which allows an understated elegance to shine through with minimal decoration.
As the bride and groom made their entrance, they were met with an incredible surge of energy. Guests leapt to their feet, cheering, waving napkins, and setting the tone immediately for fun, heartfelt speeches, a delicious meal, and the kind of easy, sociable conversation that fills a room.
Hedsor House Centre Hall reception party
Later that evening, guests were welcomed back into a transformed Centre Hall to party the night away. So they started and ended the day in the heart of Hedsor House. Earlier in the day, the space had felt calm, architectural, and ceremonial. By night, it had completely shifted in mood, proving just how versatile it truly is. The same room that held quiet emotion and meaningful vows now became a vibrant, energetic space for dancing, celebration, and connection.
That ability to evolve throughout the day is one of the things that makes a Hedsor House wedding so special. Each space adapts effortlessly to the moment, allowing the day to unfold naturally while keeping guests engaged from start to finish.
And to prove that the outside of Hedsor House is just as versatile, Simeon and Kathryn made use of the gorgeous grounds after dark too, with their guests forming a tunnel of sparklers for them to do a celebration walk through. What a way to end the celebrations!
