Wedding Celebrant Oxfordshire
Looking for a wedding celebrant in Oxfordshire who'll help you create a ceremony that feels relaxed, meaningful and completely like you? Well, heyyy, you’ve found me!
I'm Zadie, a professionally trained wedding celebrant and vibrant storyteller, creating completely bespoke wedding ceremonies for fun, modern couples who want their ceremony to feel personal, meaningful and every bit as memorable as the rest of their wedding day.
I'm based in Buckinghamshire, not far from the Oxfordshire border, and regularly work with couples all across the Oxfordshire county for their weddings. There's a LOT of choice for Oxfordshire couples - countryside barns, beautiful manor houses, historic Oxford buildings and some brilliantly unusual places to get married too.
With over 12 years in the wedding and events industry, plus a background in acting and storytelling, I know a great ceremony is about much more than writing a nice script. It's about telling your story in a way that actually sounds like you, reading the room, getting the energy right and knowing how to bring all of your favourite people along for the ride.
That's why my ceremonies feel designed and more like a live experience than something being read at you. We’ll go for sentimental without the cringe, funny without the awkward, and completely, undeniably you! And your guests are a big part of it too. They'll be laughing, reacting, hearing things about you they might not already know and feeling properly part of the moment. So by the time you leave the ceremony, everyone is already well and truly in the mood to celebrate!
Let’s CREATe your ceremony to be full of your personality

Oxfordshire wedding venuesI love
Oxfordshire has some seriously special places to get married. You’ve got the history and architecture of Oxford itself, huge country estates, gorgeous stone barns and plenty of countryside in between. So there’s lots to choose from, whether you want something grand and impressive or much more relaxed.
As a wedding celebrant working across Oxfordshire, these are just a few of my favourite venues I love creating ceremonies at:
Bodleian Libraries – Oxford
Getting married inside one of Oxford's most iconic historic buildings is pretty hard to beat. From the incredible Divinity School to Convocation House, the Bodleian gives you centuries of history, seriously impressive architecture and a wedding setting that definitely doesn't feel like anywhere else.
Blenheim Palace – Woodstock
If you want grandeur, Blenheim certainly isn't shy about it. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has spectacular State Rooms, huge grounds and several different spaces for weddings of different sizes, making it a pretty unforgettable backdrop for the whole day. And who wouldn’t want to say they got married in a palace?!
Stratton Court Barn – Bicester
A relaxed countryside barn with lots of natural light, outdoor space and plenty of flexibility to make the day feel like yours. It's particularly lovely if you want the character of a barn wedding with a modern feel on your wedding day. They have a glorious courtyard too!
The Theatre Chipping Norton – Chipping Norton
Fancy getting married in an actual theatre? This gorgeous Victorian venue is packed with character, with its auditorium, stage and theatrical surroundings giving you a ceremony space that's completely different from the usual wedding venue. And as a former actor myself, obviously this one was always going to make the list!
Oxford University Museum of Natural History – Oxford
If you're looking for a wedding venue your guests definitely won't have been to a hundred times before, this is a pretty spectacular option. With it's soaring neo-Gothic architecture, a huge glass roof and museum collections surrounding you as you celebrate, it’s definitely interesting and unusual.
What your ceremony could look like
Every ceremony I create is built from scratch around you - your story, your personalities, your energy. No templates, no scripts pulled off a shelf, and definitely not the boring bit before the party.
Your bespoke Oxfordshire wedding ceremony might include personal vows, heartfelt and humorous storytelling, readings or songs that mean something to you, symbolic moments (modern, not cringe), fun or surprising elements, music that feels like you, guest involvement (if that's your vibe), and traditions modernised (or none at all).
The goal is simple: a ceremony experience that feels intentional, emotional, fun, and unmistakably you.
and with the ceremonies by zadie experience, you’ll also get:
A celebrant who feels like a friend from the start, not a stranger reading from a clipboard
A creative, fun-filled planning journey that gets the ideas flowing and includes guidance when you have decisions to make
A ceremony woven with storytelling, humour, and genuine emotional depth
Someone who feels the room, lifts the energy, and brings your guests into the moment
A delivery that's warm, electric, and completely in tune with you.
Your ceremony becomes more than a moment.
It becomes an experience your guests will feel part of, remember, and talk about long after the day itself.
Client Love
"the whole process working with her was really enjoyable. She genuinely took the time to get to know us and our story, as well as what we wanted from our ceremony. She had so many ideas and suggestions of how we could personalise our ceremony which we loved.”

Things for Wedding Guests to Do in Oxfordshire
If your guests are making a weekend of it, Oxfordshire gives them plenty of excuses to stick around for a little longer:
For the explorers: Spend a few hours wandering around Oxford's cobbled streets, colleges and independent shops, take a walk along the river or head out towards the Cotswolds and explore places like Burford, Woodstock and Chipping Norton. If the weather's playing ball, Oxford Botanic Garden is a lovely place for a slower afternoon too.
For the foodies: Oxfordshire has plenty to get excited about, from brilliant country pubs and farm shops to independent restaurants and some seriously good fine dining. Oxford city centre itself has loads of choice, or head out further out in the county for a long pub lunch somewhere like The Wild Rabbit in Kingham. And if your guests are Clarkson's Farm fans, Diddly Squat Farm Shop near Chipping Norton has become an Oxfordshire attraction in its own right. Just be prepared for a queue!
For the history and culture lovers: Oxford obviously has quite a head start here. Guests can explore some of the famous University colleges, visit the Ashmolean Museum, climb the tower at the University Church of St Mary the Virgin for views across the city, or simply wander around pretending they've suddenly become an extra in an academic period drama!
For those recovering from the night before: Keep things gentle. Find a good Oxfordshire pub, order a Sunday roast and begin the inevitable debrief of who did what on the dance floor. If everyone's feeling surprisingly human, a wander along the Thames or Cherwell might help clear the cobwebs. And if not - stay in the pub - no judgement here…

Is this right for you
This experience is designed for couples who want something more than a standard scripted ceremony. If you’re looking for a start to your wedding day that reflects your personalities, brings your guests into your story, and sets the tone for an unforgettable celebration, we may be the perfect match.
If you’re looking for a formal, traditional ceremony with little to no personal input, I’m probably not the right celebrant for you - and that’s completely okay!
